  1. There are a lot of old proverbs such as,
"Many a one pulled a rod to beat themselves."
"You cannot have your loaf and eat it."
"There is many a way for killing a cat without choking him with ?"
"A stitch in time saves nine."
"A borrowed horse has hard hoofs."
"There is many a slip between the cup and the lip."
"You would never miss water until the well dries,"
"There is always a fast before a feast,"
    "Better late than never."
"A bird in your hand is worth two on the bush."
An empty pocket is a great pledge."
"A little help is better than a lot of pity,"
Another saying is "You are the image of Mary Ann Flanery." She is living in Bekan. She is an old woman and she is always untidy.
Another is Jimme King. He lives outside the town. He had only one suit clothes and he wore them every day. But when Sunday came he would stay in bed and the people would say, "A tinker on Sunday and a swank all the week."
