  1. There is a man named Thomas Cussane living in Mount Street, Claremorris. The people call him "Cock Cussane". He composed "St. Coleman's football team" and "Tinker." He is a blacksmith and has a little education. He also composed a parody on "I'm sitting on the style Mary." It is -
    "I'm sitting on the style Mary.
    I've no place else to sit.
    The landlord took the bits of stick
    And I have had to fllit.
    He took the ass, he took the goose,
    He took the pig and cow,
    So I'm sitting on the style Mary
    That's what I'm doing now.
    I'm sitting on the style Mary
    They left me nothing more.
    The roof is off my cabin
    And the latch is off my door.
    So 'neath the hedge I'll shelter now
    And make my bed awhile.
    I hope I"ll have no no rent to pay
    I'm sitting on the style."
