    About one hundred years ago there was a man living in Cloonlavish in the Parish of Knock.

    About one hundred years ago there was a man living in Cloonlavish in the Parish of Knock. One May morning he was gong to the fair of Balla. On his way he met a lady who had a sovereign in her hand. She asked him if he had lost the money and he said no. She kept saying he must have lost it but he kept saying no. At last she insisted on him taking the money. He put the sovereign in his pocket and he went to the fair. He had a horse to sell but he did not sell her. He brought home the horse and on that day twelve he went tot he fair with her again. He sold her this time and he got twenty four pounds for her. He had the sovereign in his pocket all this time. He put the sovereign in with the twenty four pounds and when he
