What is that, that is full of holes and yet holds water?
Ans. A sponge.
What do you fill a barrel with to make it lighter?
Ans. Holes.
Why is the butcher the greatest thief in the world?
Ans. Because he is always steeling knives.
Under your hat and over your head?
Ans. The hair of your head.
Patches and pieces without any stitches?
Ans. A head of cabbage.
Black and white and "read" all over?
Ans. A newspaper.
Under the fire and over the fire and never touches the fire?
Ans. A cake in an oven.
