  1. Just where Mayo borders on Co. Galway there was a man named James Mannion, he was able to take six and seven hundred weights, and straighten four hundred weights.
    Mrs. Mc. Hugh near Ballindine was a great walker, she used to walk to Ballyhaunis and come back with a lot of parcels then she would cross the fields to Tuam and only for it would be too late she would not mind going another few miles.
    There was a man in Kilvine, Irishtown, called Michael Higgins he could run three miles in a quarter of an hour.
    I don't know of anyone that could catch rabbits by running
