  1. There was some type of industry carried on in the district long ago but it is discontinued now. There were candles made from rushes that were peeled and steeped in grease then left up until they would be stiffened. I do not remember any soap-making being carried on in the district.
    There were ships made from rods also turf baskets and sometimes Egg-baskets. There was forge-work carried on in which were made spades, gates, plougs, and fire cranes. Spinning and weaving was
