"Jack the Papers" was a tall thin man dressed in black clothes like a priest. He always carried a bundle of papers under his arm. They used to say that he was a bank clerk who got out of his mind. He used to stay in the most respectable houses. Everybody liked to see him coming because he was a great talker. He spent most of his time around the locality of Dunmore. He is dead now.
"Blackmud" was a fair sized man with black hair and black whiskers. He used to go around playing a fiddle. He was not able to play anymore than two tunes. Before going into a house he used to stay a good while muttering outside the door. He is about four or five years dead now.
