wheels in my village of Brandraduff.
There is a flax pond at the end of our land on the right hand side of the bog road. The people used to steep the flax there. They used to grow flax in our village of Brandudd about sixty or seventy years ago. They used to leave it steeping until the skin outside began to rot. After that they used to scutch it. They used to keep knitting it against boards until it opened out in strings. These strings were very tough. They used to spin them into thread from which they used to make linen. The womon of the used to spin the thread.
Patrick Devane was a tailor who lived n Ballindine. People used to go into him to get things made. He is dead now and was about seventy years of age when he died.
