  1. St. Stephen's Day
    I
On St.Stephens Day the boys dress up in straw and old clothes and disguise themselves by putting on false faces. Then they go from house to house and dance and play music and the people give them money and bread. These boys are called "Wren Boys" as it was a wren betrayed St.Stephen.

They say it isn't right to let the wren boys from the house on Christmas Day without giving them something. Some years ago the people used always begin ploughing on St. Stephen's Day.
