    made some dough and gave it to Martin. Later in the night the servant took some and put it under a bowl just as the Blessed Virgin had done. In the morning when Martin awoke he looked under the bowl and out came a bovam. When the servant saw what came out she looked under her own and out came a rat. That is the reason we have meat in honor of St Martin.
