    Festival Customs
    New Years Day
    When people meet to gather on New Year's Day, they wish each other a happy new year. People in some districts would rather a man come visit the house than a woman on that day. Some people do not throw out the ashes or stir the clay on this day. They also ring the bells and go out with bands and have all sorts of amusements on that night.
    Eve of Epiphany
    The children gather on that night and each one of them gets a rush and every one of them lights his own rush and the first one's rush that will quench, they say that that person is the first who will die.
    The Brídeóga
    Girls dress themselves with a sheet and make a doll the shape of a child and
