  1. Once upon a time a man was proeeding from the town of Claremorris to Seefin school. In his journey near Crossboyne graveyard he met a man dressed in black clothes. This man who was on horse back was stopped by this man and the horse was unable to move.
    This man who stopped the horse spoke to the other man and said, "Will you do some thing I will ask you to do." "Well" said the man "tell me, and I might." The ghost said to him "Say you will or you wont". The man did not think of himself and he said "I will". The ghost then said, "You cannot break your word, you will have to exchange places with me this time to-morrow night". The ghost then disappeared and the man drove off home in great fear.
    When he told his wife about it she told him to go and tell the priest. The next
