  1. The Landlord
    Captain Sheffield was the landlord of our property. He bought this property from another landlord for eleven thousand pounds. He changed the name of the property to Carrydoyne. Then was a great number of tenants in his property. He erected the most of them and he put ten more of them in one acre of land which they afterwards had to leave and had to emigrate to America as they had not enough of land to live at home.
    He planted trees in the land which he took from the tenants. If another tenants cat or god dared to go through those trees he would be summoned and brought to court. All the head people of the court at that time were landlords and the poor people never got their rights at the lawcourt. The landlords always got the best side of them. They were always very cruel to their poor tenants.
