  1. There was once a man who intended to go to Kilmaine fair. He set off the day before the fair. When night fell the man saw a light in this house and he said to himself he might be able to get lodgings. At any rate, he went and the woman of the house gave him a warm handshake and she told him to sit down by the fire. The man asked her to give him lodgings and she said she would of course. During the night the woman of the house said to the man "Will you shave a dead man that is here in the room". but the man replied very quick that he would not but the woman said that if he would not he would be killed by two giants. The man immediately got a razor and went into the room where the man was
