    or in the river Robe and Pat Mannion who lives in Ballynew was the best swimmer in this parish and he could dive down to the bottom of the lake.
    There was an old woman called Katty Lally living in Gorlough, and she was a great dancer, she used to go to every wedding without being invited and if anybody asked her why she went, she would say, "sure I was not told to stop at home. She was also a great walker and every week she would go to Killtimagh and buy a few hundred of herrings and she would be home in the evening in time to sell them.
