- My grand-father who is an old man of eighty-one years, has just told me a tale about a useless boy, who dwelt Well, one day when this boy was twenty years old he said to his mother, "Begorra I think it is time for me to travel and earn my living". So no sooner said than done, he set out on his journey and when he reached the sea-shore, he made up his mind to go to Denmark. Everything turned out well, until one day he was walking through a field in Denmark, when he saw a beautiful cottage. He stepped inside, then all of a sudden he heard a voice saying, "tuige nach ndéanainn tu do duty?"
He looked about and he saw a cradle suspending from the roof, and what do you think was in it, but an old man and woman very, very, feeble. The duty was to push the cradle, and it would keep rocking until another visitor entered, so the old man(continues on next page)
