  1. My home district is in the town land of Manulla. The houses in it are very numerous, and are about equal in number to those which were in it long ago. No ruins of old houses remain, but every house in the village is newly built except two. The village is called Cairantubber and it is situated about eight miles from Castlebar.
    The land occupied by three families now, belonged at one time to a family named Bermingham. The owners of these three divisions are Laurence Hughes, John Luskin and Pat McEllin. During the famine years the original owners emigrated to America and Australia. The man who went to Australia was killed when working in a good
