  1. A very exhaustive survey of the property of Sir Robert Lynch Blosse was made about 100 years ago by an engineer or assessor who stayed in Balla with the landlord during the it was being done. It is in manuscript and contains a most exhaustive account of -
    (a) Every house and house holder in Balla or in the vicinity (b) The valuation of every holding
    (c) A record of the account of stock, pigs, goats, hens, ducks etc in each household
    (d) The valuation of every house in the town of Balla. Also other interesting items
    This record was thrown amongst rubbish after the dispersal sale of the Blosse Lynch property in Balla. It was given when found to the late Baron Reiddy P.P. Balla. It is now in the custody of the St Louis nuns at Balla convent.
