  1. There is really only one connection, if it is one, with the Fianna in this locality. Tobar Caoilte is supposed to be named after one of the Fianna. It is in the Balla parish in the townland of Ballyclougher. It keeps on summer and winter and does not dry even when other wells in the locality run dry.
    The other Fianna reference is to a large stone which is in the curate's garden as is said to have been thrown from a neighbouring hill. These are the only references to the Fianna I could find in Balla parish.
