    The southern calves are not considered good: and would not be bought at all if the people could help it. They are not as dear as the home calf of the same age or anything like it. At present (Jun 1938) a southern calf of 5 or 6 weeks can be bought from 50 to £3: but a home calf of 3 weeks will cost from £5 to £5- S10
    Custom is charged at Doonamoona as other fairs
    Sheep 3d a head
    Cattle 6d a head
    Calves 3d a head
    Custom is paid only on the animals that are sold
    "Luck" is invariable given. The amount varies with the price
