  1. Several families of tinkers visit us from time to time:
    They are
    The Maughans
    The Myers
    The Sweeneys
    The Collin's
    The McDonoughs

    Some of them seem to make this district their headquarters. At least they are never very long absent from it.
    They have regular camping spots always nicely sheltered; and where their horses or asses can get pasturage, on the road sides or on some open space to which much objection is not raised by the owner of the land.
    These camping spots seem to be Common property - that is to say no one family of tinkers fixes one particular
