    In Martin Mc.Donnell´s land about 50 yards from the Milestone in Thomastown (The old name for Thomastown was Rusheer) is a flag fixed firmly in the ground on an upright position. On the top the the stone or flag is cut out the word "MERING". On one side of the flag is the word "Knock-boy" pointing out that the land on that side is in the village of Knockboy.
    On the opposite side is the word Lisrobert: Lisrobert being on this side.This stone thus marks the merging of two townlands Knockboy and Lisrobert and als of two parishes Balla and Burriscara or Carnacon.
    This stone was there before the oldest person living now was born.
