  1. A milestone at Thomastown, just where the "drive" from Robinsons House in Thomastown part of which was given by the land commission to Halligans meets the main road.
    The stone at present is a squarish block the part over the ground being about 2 feet. The markings on it are, the top of the stones 17" x 12"
    On one face of the stone are these markings-

    6 miles
    12 miles
    The first is the distance to Balla
    The second is the distance to Castlebar
    The third is the distance to Westport
    The miles are Irish miles.
