  1. John Byrne is a shoemaker in our district. He lives in Carnacon in a small galvanised roofed house. He is a small man with a hump. He can make and mend shoes and boots.
    He is the first man of his family to become a shoemaker and probably would not if he was a strong man.
    There are two shoemakers in Belcarra. Tom Naughton and Pat McEntyre.
    It has been a tradition in Tom Naughton's family but Pat McEntyre is the first of his family. Probably because he was lame and he could not do any other
