  1. It is said that if you cut the tops of seven nettles and boil them because it is said that juice of them is good for a sore throat. It is said that if you ask a man with a white horse had he any cure for the chin cough and what ever he will say is good for the chin cough. It is also said if you had warts on your hand and to get a snail whe [sic] you would not be looking for it and to rub him on the wart and stick him in a black thorn bush and the wart will wither. It is also said that if you will get a limestone with a hole in it, it is said that it is another cure for a wart but you must go to that stone every Thursday to wash it. If you had a sprained foot to go and tell the weaver about it but not to ask the thread. The weaver will put a lot of knots on the thread, and he will put the thread on the sprained foot.
