The warping was done on two sticks standing upright against a wall with pegs in them about a foot apart. They were called warping bars, the warp was done by going back and forth and putting the thread on those pegs. It was then put through the heddles next through the reed. It was a very slow job putting it in the heddles. Every thread had to be taken separatly. There are seven hundred threads in the width of a blanket. The weft is put on perns. These are put on by means of a shuttle. The weaving was done by putting this shuttle back and forth between the threads of the warp which were seprated by peddles which were worked by the weaver's feet.
