  1. Once upon a time there was a soldier by the name of Richard Doe who was taken before a judge for playing cards during divine service. During the service there was a sergeant who commanded the soldiers and when the priest began to read the prayers every body took out their prayer book but this soldier had nothing but a pack of cards. Then the sergeant saw him and told him to put up the cards. When the service was over the sergeant took him before a judge. The judge asked the sergeant why had he the soldier there.
