  1. Queen Elizabeth reigned in England when Tioboid na Long lived in Mayo. Tioboid helped Mountjoy to fight against the Irish at the battle of Kinsale 1602 A.D. As a reward Queen Eliozabeth made him fist Viscount of Mayo.
    It was the rule in England that the best swordsman should get a pension for life.
