    sign of good weather.
    Cattle and sheep In mountainous regions cattle are said to go to the top of the mountain to feed if good weather is coming, but if bad weather is approaching they come down to the bottom again
    Mountains The old people say when Nephin has its "night-cap" on that it is a very good sign. When we see the little church ont he top of "Croagh Patrick" the people say it is a good sign.
    Ashes When raking the fire at night if we see the gríosach of purple colour we can expect rain and stormy weather.
    Cormorant The Cormorant when leaving the large lakes and seas and comign inland we know immediately that bad weather is approaching.
    Dust The dust is rising off the road in Summer time tells us that rain is approaching
    Insects If a Summer's evening when we see the insects flying around we can expect rain.
