  2. Long ago the Ballyheane yearly fairs were held on the 4h of July and the 20th of August. The evening before the fair day crowds of people came from far off places and bought their cattle and sheep to the fair park in Ballyheane. Then they would go to the houses near them and get hay for their cattle and also that night they would get lodging in them.
