    up the clay round the rock and before long she noticed that small bits of gold were coming up with the clay. She covered up the gold again and said she would rather do without the gold than lose a member of the family. So she went home without the gold and lived happily for a long time after. It is the fairies that are supposed to have put it there. If any person took that gold the fairies would take a member of that persons family away with them.
