  1. In the fair- freen in Ballyheane there is supposed to be a wonderful rock under which there is a pot of hold hidden. Johnny Sherridan grand-father of Martin Sherridan Ballyheane, was coming from the fair of Westport and as he was passing by the rock he saw a pot of gold placed on it.
    He ran (from) for help and when it came there was no sight of it.
