Tillage, Husbandry and Sowing, Planting: preparing the ground for potatoes - Inishere: Fields are always ridged in the same pattern as they were originally, but the manure is laid with the depression of old sowings in the centre of the new ridge, thus leaving the higher ground for the new trenches. This ensures a greater depth of soil for covering the potatoes. Pattern of swing field of uneven shape.
