    roadside and ate another piece of the cake. He had only just begun to ate it when a gentleman came walking along the road towards him, who asked him was he seeking work, and would he take a job of herding if he got it.
    "Oh", said Jack, "I dont care if I do. I'm out seeking my fortune its the beginning of it. What will I have to do, sir"
    "Come along over to my castle" said the gentleman, "and I'll tell you in the morning what you'll have to do"
    So off went Jack with the gentleman anyway. He gave him such a grand supper that Jack never saw the like of it before. When morning came Jack was called about six oclock and a good breakfast was ready for him when he got up. When he had the breakfast finished the gentleman rang and ordered Jack to come to him to his room, so he could tell him the kind of work he had to do.
    "What is your name?" said the gentleman when Jack entered the room.
    "Oh, Jack from Galway, sir, that's what I'm called."
