    As long as I can remember, I used to attend Ballybar Races with my father every year until the tragic death of Owen Cummins (above). The ridge of sand, wh formed the natural grandstand for the races, is called the Druimín - a perfect druimìn with a pit opened at northern end.
    Owen Cummins. There was a great battle fought here right across the Druimín. There is no knowing all the old coins and human bones that were found in the sandpit at the end of the Druimín. That field is called the "Castle Field". There was a castle there in olden times and the
