    Legend : - In olden times there was a great fight of cats here. Cats of all classes, colours and sizes collected here and in the morning the plain was covered with dead cats - many ornamented with precious jewels set in collars etc.
    Second part of name most probably "Cáth" in gen case (sing or plural). Compare "cat-stories" of Scotland.
    Many old roads passed by here.
