   I am a ploughboy, my seed it is good,
   And it is well known to the neighbours -
   Many's the ground I ever ploughed
   And that without much labour.
   I'd plough and sow, I'd reap and mow
   And gather it into the barn.
   I'd sweep the floor, and dance with you
   On the banks of Carraige Báine.
