    A poor boy one time went out to seek his fortune.

    A poor boy one time went out to seek his fortune. He was the only son of a poor widow woman. Things got so bad with them that they had nothing to eat or drink in the house. The woman said she would get a bit somewhere, but she told the boy that it would be as good for him to go somewhere and make a living for himself.
    She gave him two loaves of bread, and five shillings in his pocket which was all the money the poor woman had in her possession. The boy went along the road, and he was troubled enough in his mind, and why wouldn't he and he just after leaving his mother and his home.
    There were three robbers living in the locality
