  1. The fool in the middle.
Five boys would play this game. Four stones would be placed on the road or in the field in the form of a square. Of course there would be about six yards between the stones. A boy would stand at each of the stones and another boy would stand in the middle of the square. The four boys would start running from stone to stone and the fool in the middle would be trying to reach one of the stones before them. If he succeeded in reaching the stone, the boy that he knocked out would be the fool and would have to stand in the middle of the square. Then the game would start all over again and that was all that was in it.
