  1. Biddy Early was known all over Ireland for her cures, and people used to come from long distances to her.
    One day long ago a man came to her for a bottle. He said his sister was sick, and that he wanted to cure her. She gave him the bottle, and told him that if he passed a certain cross his sister would be cured. He got on his bicycle but when he came to the cross the bicycle slipped and he fell and broke the bottle. That night his sister died.
