    sister in America. Her son asked her what she would do with the money. She said she would leave it for the sore foot. One day when the woman was in town and a man came to the door. He had a sore foot and the son gave him the money. When the woman came home the son told her that he gave the money to a man with a sore foot. The woman scolded him and said that was not what she meant by saying "leaving it up for the sore foot. She said it meant leaving it up till they would find use for it. She told him never to do that any more.
    Honesty is the best policy
    Save the pennies and the shillings will mind themselves.
    What is easily got is easily spent.
    A shut mouth makes a wise head.
    As near as the door is God is nearer.
    You never notice the want of water till the well goes dry.
