  1. There are four cows in Tashinny Rectory. Two of them are giving milk and the other two are in calf.
    When we are calling them in to be milked we say "Prug, prug", then the cows come in to the cowhouse and there are "bows" put round their necks. In summer time they are out at night, and in winter time they are in at night and get hay and mash and sometimes cabbage.
    When a cow is after calving people call the Milk Beastins and it is used for making Puddings and Pank-Cakes.
    A cow is very useful because we get Milk, Butter, Cheese, and a calf from them.
    The fore milk which is taken first from the Cow is given to the calf when he is young. The "strippens" is strained into a crock and used for cream, and churning and when it is churned we get Butter
