  1. In Monasterboice there are to be seen remains of an old grave-yard. A head-stone is to be seen with the names Garrett, Ann and Thomas Melloy of Keeverstown who died in the year 1793 between the ages of 20 and 27 years. The stone was removed by the owner of the field who used it as a manger and it is said that a ghost was seen about the shed and about 30 years ago a man named Mr Donegan who had bought the farm left it back again. There are the remains of a building and it is supposed to have been a mortuary chapel and not a place of worship. About 500 yards from this ruin was a holy well. It was closed by the owner and about 20 or 30 yards further down the field it
