    The swallows nest is built around the eaves of houses. It is made of mud and straw and lined with feathers. He lays about four eggs and sits on them for about a month.
    Boys are told that they would get sores on their hands if they rob birds nests.
    It is a sign of rain to see the birds flying low. To see the sea-gulls flying over the land is a sign of a storm on sea.
    It is said that the robin got his red breast from a drop of blood that fell from Our lords side on the cross. The wren is supposed to have betrayed Our Saviour.
