    the year. The mountain ash is also supposed to be lucky and they stick it in the four corners of the field, in the eaves of the out offices, and in the manure heaps. A story is handed down in this parish about a man who complained to the priest that his crops failed and that the cows had no milk. The priest told the people off the altar to sprinkle their crops with Easter Water and stick the mountain ash and said he "I defy either man or devil to do you harm".
    If you leave off any clothes on May Day you will not get a cold and you can have them off or put them on again during the year and
