sort. The fiddle, the flute, the concertina and bagpipes were the musical instruments they had.
They thought it was unlucky to marry in May and August and they had the following rhyme about the days of the week
    Monday for health
    Tueday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no day at all
In order to have luck the bride had to wear
    Something old and something new
    Something borrowed and something blue
They used to say that if there were not many marriages in a parish the priest would have to sell his horse.
