    the fair green of Adare about forty years ago, when the carmen passed from Limerick on their way to Newcastle. It was about eight o clock on a summer evening. The horses pulled up suddenly outside the haunted house and nothing would induce them to pass. He said they unharnessed the horses and stabled them in Adare until the following morning.
