    years ago, the then Parish Priest of Adare, Rev. Dean Flanagan was riding on horse back by night to attend a sick person.
    The horse suddenly stood still outside the house and showed every appearance of distress. The Priest endeavoured to drive him on but he reared suddenly and threw him to the ground. He had to leave him in a nearby house till morning.
