about his dream. The farmer pretended to be angry with him. He dismounted, and gave the horse to the man to lead to market. The clever farmer returned home. He dug up the old well and found a lot of money in the bottom. He also dug up a large flagstone with ancient inscription on it, which he could not understand. Those were the days of the poor scholars. A poor scholar rambled that way and read what was written on the stone. "The deeper you dig , the more you find". The farmer dug the old well deeper and deeper, and found in it big sums of money. But the poor dreamer got none of the gold.
