    Cappagh about three miles to south of Adare. The ghost followed him in the form of a man. He tormented and beat him for a mile of the road as far as Coffy's bridge. The man went home, he never regained his strength and died a few days later muttering. "The ghost of Ard ban has done for me", "He has caused my death".
    About the same time there lived a man named Lynch at Ard ban. He had two sons, one night the father was in bed. He sent one of the sons looking for the jennet, which had strayed out of the field.
